What makes Frenchy Rentals apartments better than a hotel room?
A Frenchy Rentals apartment will afford you many advantages, such as: more room than a hotel; the
opportunity to prepare your own meals or bring home take-out; a better value for a family; a chance to
establish yourself as a regular at your neighborhood bar, bistro or boulangerie; and handy appliances such as a
clothes washer or dishwasher. Overall, an apartment will give you a more authentic, complete Paris experience,
and allow you to live and enjoy Paris more like a local.
How do I know if renting an apartment is really right for me?
Read this description to get an idea of what it's like to rent a self-catering apartment and how it differs from a
hotel: Slow Travel's: What is a Vacation Rental?
The rates listed are weekly. What if I only want to stay five days? Do I have to pay for the full week?
Typically, the answer is yes. Every owner has different policies. Please let us know which apartment you would
like and the dates of your stay. Most owners will do their best to accommodate your requests. If one is not
available, perhaps another Frenchy Rentals apartment will be better suited to accommodate a shorter stay. In
general, we find that stays of three nights or fewer are better suited to a hotel than an apartment.
How do I know if a Frenchy Rentals apartment is available for my stay?

info@frenchyrentals.com. We'll get back to you as soon as humanly possible. Don't forget to consider the time
difference as you await our response.
What does "1 Bedroom + Study" mean?
These apartments are one bedroom apartments with an extra room. These rooms can generally be used as
either a study, a formal dining room or a family room.
Most of the Frenchy Rentals apartments are on the right bank in the Montmartre area. Are they far
from other tourist attractions?
Not at all. Public transportation in Paris is exceptional. Most tourists use the metro and forget about the bus,
but all Frenchy Rentals have excellent bus and metro connections nearby. We suggest you spend your days
enjoying all of Paris' beautiful tourist sites and then return "home" to your own neighborhood to explore off
the beaten path. This gives you the opportunity to experience Paris as both a tourist and a local.
Is the first floor the ground floor?
In France, the ground floor is numbered "0" or called "rez de chaussee." The first floor in France is up one flight
of stairs - or what North Americans would call the second floor. The second floor is what Americans would call
the third floor, and it follows the same pattern all the way up.
How do I pay for my Frenchy Rentals apartment?
Most owners will accept a credit card through PayPal, as well as personal checks in Euro. Most will also accept a
wire transfer in Euros. When you request your apartment, we'll fill you in on the details and work together to
find the best option. You can read more about payment on the Policies page on our site.
What is this PayPal thing you keep talking about?
PayPal is a way for you to pay an apartment owner by credit card or direct debit from your bank, WITHOUT
sharing any of your personal information with the owner. PayPal is secure and free for you. Please click here to
read how PayPal works. We think PayPal offers a good service for both renters and owners, and normally makes
payment a snap for both parties!
How will my damage deposit be returned?
Your damage deposit will generally be returned to you the same way it was paid: via PayPal or by mail in the
form of a check or by wire transfer within a few weeks after you have checked out. Frenchy Rentals will always
inspect the apartment for damages, missing items, lost keys and for apartments left in excessively dirty
condition, which would result in charges to be deducted from the damage deposit. You can read more about
deposits on the Policies page on our site.
How safe is the neighborhood?
Well, considering we live within a few blocks of most Frenchy Rentals apartments -- with several as close as
around the corner -- we can say with authority that we feel safe! That said, Paris is a big city, and everyone
should take standard precautions, such as guarding your purse, wearing a money belt or keeping your wallet in
your front pocket. Always stay alert to your surroundings, both on the street, at tourist attractions and on
public transportation.
What do the names of the apartments mean?
They are simply the names of the Parisian streets where the apartments are located.
Why are you called Frenchy Rentals?
Good question! Because we wanted something different, and lots of domain names with "Paris" in them were
already taken - some by our very good friends and colleagues! So we opted for something with a little spunk
and sense of humor. We like to think our owners and renters have a similar spirit.
Who owns the apartments?
Our Frenchy Rentals apartment owners are people just like you who happen to own an apartment in Paris, and
most of them live in the US or UK. You can get to know them better by reading a little about them on the same
page as their apartments.
There are a lot of Paris rental apartments out there. Why should I go with Frenchy Rentals and not
an agency?
In a nutshell, personal attention. We strive to serve apartment renters and apartment owners with the same
high level of service. We also specialize in the area directly surrounding where we live, so we can be the most
helpful to visitors and give informed advice. We are also nearby in case of any emergencies.
Can I smoke in a Frenchy Rentals apartment?
No. Smoking is not allowed inside any of the Frenchy Rentals apartments.
I want to own an apartment in Paris, too. Where do I start?
We suggest you visit Paris Real Estate Finders and contact Darrell Halverson and Stephanie Freedman. They
helped us buy our apartment in Paris, as well as most of the Frenchy Rentals owners, too.
