Step outside the apartment and you'll find yourself on the base of rue Tholoze, which heads uphill toward the windmill at the old Moulin de Galette. Just a 10-second walk down to rue Lepic, filled with boulangeries, green grocers, a fromagerie, butcher, wine shop, flower boutiques - as well as a couple truly Parisian neighborhood cafes, like Lux Bar on the corner at rue Coustou. If you turn left at Le Nazir cafe, and walk along rue des Abbesses, you'll find the Parisian dream continues, as you wind your way through the picturesque streets of Montmartre, filled with boutiques and, of course, more food shops, restaurants and cafés with plenty of outdoor seating. Within a 10-minute walk, you'll be at the foot of the glorious white Sacre Coeur basilica. Walk off some of that great French food and do the stairs up the hill to the church, or "cheat" and just take the funicular to the top! Transportation is a snap in this neighborhood, with two different metro stops (Blanche or Abbesses) less than a 5-minute walk away, and several bus lines (74, 68, 30, 54) to help take you anywhere in Paris quickly and easily.
Walk 30 seconds and cross rue des Abbesses to rue Lepic, and frankly, you could come here everyday and never grow tired of its shops and energy. Filled with cafés, boulangeries, green grocers, cheese shops, a butcher, a fish monger and a wine shop, you're free to experience every foodie adventure you can imagine. On the practical side, you also have two supermarkets (G20 and 8 a Huit), a pharmacy, and several cash machines on rue Lepic. In this neighborhood, if you can dream it, it's here - from fresh oysters to cheeses you've never heard of, from fruit tarts nearly too pretty to eat to rotisserie chickens to take home for dinner. There is also a handy Monoprix supermarket at Place Blanche, just down the hill on rue Lepic - the supermarket part is downstairs. You'll also find restaurants in all price ranges for all tastes, from seafood at La Mascotte to fresh and friendly Italian at Pepone to the outrageously big salads topped with heaps of thinly-sliced, garlic-fried potatoes at Le Relais Gasçon. Walk up rue Tholozé and you'll find an old Frenchy Rental's favorite, Le Petit Parisien.

About the Owner
Estelle, born and raised in Paris, arrived in Montmartre as a teenager. She is passionate about travel and discovering other cultures.
Estelle wanted to purchase an apartment in Montmartre because she enjoys the area and it's been her home base for the last 15 years. This apartment was the second she visited and she made an offer on the spot! She liked the feel of the space, and the fact that you can see the Paris rooftops from the windows even though you're only on the 3rd floor!
While the apartment is in the true heart of Montmartre in the active and busy rue des Abbesses area, the apartment is the quietest Estelle has ever known! She enjoys the pleasure of having a cup of tea around 5 p.m. in spring and summer months, with sunshine streaming in the windows. You feel like you feel like you are outside, on a quiet terrace, while in the privacy of your own Parisian flat.
