About the Apartment
Welcome to our intimate, peaceful hideaway tucked inside a typical Parisian building on the rue de Douai, just beside the front slope of Montmartre and the bright lights of the Moulin Rouge.
This airy studio has high ceilings (3 meters high!) and large windows, opening out onto a small, private terrace (photo with red umbrella shows the terrace and furniture). The terrace is the perfect escape for a relaxing break from the city and a glass of wine in the afternoon...or anytime! The apartment sleeps 2-4 adults, with a high-quality double bed in the bedroom nook and a deluxe double sofabed designed for daily use which is as comfortable as a traditional bed. The bedroom area also has a closet with plenty of storage for both hanging and folding clothing, and the curtains in front close for privacy.
The large eat-in kitchen features full-size appliances (four-burner stove, oven, clothes washer, refrigerator with freezer) and accesses the courtyard and bathroom. The kitchen has a new dining table with 5 chairs. The modern bathroom has a sink, vanity area with storage, toilet and is equipped with a large bathtub with shower. You'll also have WiFi internet, free international calling to many countries, cable TV with a few international channels and lots of Paris guidebooks.
The apartment is located on the ground floor of the building, but at the very back of the building on a private courtyard - no one can access it except you via the inside of the apartment. The living room and bathroom windows and the kitchen door all look out onto your private courtyard.
Step outside the apartment and you'll find your new neighborhood to lively, convenient, funky and increasingly trendy. The area is bursting with boulangeries, greengrocers, fromageries, boucheries, wine vendors, flower shops - as well several modern grocery stores making it easy to purchase the essentials for feeling at home in the apartment. Just outside the door and to your left you'll find the sweet little park at Square Berlioz, accross from the excellent boulangerie Le Cocqulicot. Take a two-minute walk north you'll find yourselves in Montmartre on the market street rue Lepic and cafes and shopping on rue des Abesses. A two-minute walk also leads you to two different metro stops (Blanche or Place de Clichy) and several bus stops (74, 68, 80, 95, 30, 54) which will take you anywhere in Paris quickly and easily.
The Monoprix supermarket is located right by the Blanche metro stop at Place Blanche. The supermarket is downstairs, while the bakery/prepared food counter, clothing, cosmetics and household items are on street level. The smaller Franprix supermarket is located on rue Vintimille. Walk out the door of the apartment to your left, staying on the same side of the street, and make a left at the corner. For your morning baguette and other baked goods, walk out the door to your left to our favorite boulangerie Le Cocqulicot. For fresh food shopping, head up the hill on rue Lepic for the cheese, meat, fish, chocolate, wine and much more! On Saturday mornings, head to Place de Clichy and Boulevard de Batignolles for the weekly organic market.

About the Owners
Paula and Darrin, co-founders of Frenchy Rentals, owned this apartment for more than 13 years, fulfilling a dream of Parisian home-ownership. The apartment has been renovated since purchasing it, including adding the little bedroom nook, and also adding tile flooring in the kitchen and on the terrace. They have passed the apartment on to Sabine, the new owner, who is still renting it to travelers when she is not in Paris.
