Apartment Description

Welcome Home Travelers! Are you looking for a quiet home base for your family after a long day of sight-seeing in Paris? Do you need space for up to 6 and want to keep everyone together while on vacation? Please look no further and consider our family home in Paris!

This loft apartment has an open, airy floor plan with a separate spacious living area with a large balcony on one side, and the bedroom/bathroom areas in the back area of the apartment. The apartment features three bedrooms, two bathrooms (one with a shower, one with a bath/shower combo), one separate toilet room, and two balconies - one off the main living area, and another off one of the bedrooms. The apartment is located on the 5th floor in a building with an elevator (lift).

BEDROOMS: There are three bedrooms all located on the back half of the apartment, separated by a door from the main living areas. The master bedroom is in the middle with a queen (160 x 200) bed; a second bedroom has two twin beds which can be combined into one large bed if needed; a third bedroom with a queen bed which has its own private balcony and an en-suite shower room with a sink/vanity area and shower stall. All bedrooms have views of Sacre Coeur Basilica.

BATHROOMS: The home has two bathrooms and one toilet room. The main bathroom and toilet room are located off the hallway in the back section of the apartment where the bedrooms are located. All bedrooms can access the main bathroom and shower room without disturbing other guests. The main bathroom has a full-sized bathtub with shower attachment, and a large sink/vanity area. The toilet room is separate and next to the main bathroom. The third bedroom has an en-suite shower room, with a shower stall and sink/vanity area. Toiletries including hand soap, bath gel, shampoo and toilet paper are provided for guests.

LIVING AREAS & GENERAL LAYOUT: The apartment has a very open design with the main family room open to the dining room and open kitchen. As you enter the apartment, the kitchen is directly in front of you and the main living/dining areas and large balcony are to the left. To the right of the entryway are the bedrooms and bathrooms and laundry closet.

DINING AREA: This is a wonderful apartment for meals with family and friends! The dining area has seating for 8. Extra chairs are available, including ones for children. The balcony table also offers seating for 4 guests.

KITCHEN: The kitchen is well-equipped with a full-sized oven, refrigerator with freezer, dishwasher, Nespresso machine, toaster, microwave, plus pots, pans, knives, silverware, plates/dishes, wine glasses and more. Coffee, spices, and other basic cooking supplies are stocked in the home, and food shopping is a breeze with Franprix around the corner on rue Dunkerque and the weekly fresh food market on Friday around Square d'Anvers park.

LAUNDRY CLOSET: In the hallway in the back side of the apartment, there is a closet holding a clothes washing machine and a separate tumble dryer.

NEIGHBORHOOD: Within a 10-minute walk, discover the wine and cheese shops, restaurants and market atmosphere of rue des Martyrs, a fabulous market street described in a New York Times article as "a slice of village life" that will "satisfy that perennial desire for discovery." If you would rather walk to the north, enjoy the village of Montmartre, known for the legendary artists who once called it home, and tiny, picturesque streets that transport visitors imaginations to Paris' rich past. It’s always a treat to wander around, visiting Sacre Coeur cathedral and the two remaining windmills perched up high on the hill.

FAMILIES: This is a family home and has all you need if you are traveling with children! We have a large crib (120 cm) suitable for children to 3-4 years old and a high chair. We have toys and children's tables for playing. You can make good use of the park with a children's play area just around the corner at Square d'Anvers. Parents can take a break on a bench and take in the view of Sacre Coeur while the kids work off a little excess energy. And should you want to go to the much larger Jardin de Luxembourg across town, just pick up the 85 bus and it will take you right to it! The merri-go-rounds at the top of rue des Martyrs, at Place des Abbesses and at the base of Sacre Coeur are also a hit with kids.

APARTMENT COMMUNITY: We respect our neighbors and enjoy living in our very calm building. We aim to rent to respectful travelers who understand they will become a temporary part of this lovely Parisian neighborhood. This is our home: No parties or events of any kind, please!

RATES & LENGTH OF STAY: We favor longer rentals and respect our neighbors. We prefer a one-week minimum (7 nights) in the high season, but can be flexible for some shorter stays.

We look forward to welcoming you to Paris on your upcoming trip!

Shopping

If you're a foodie, don't miss the traditional weekly food market on Friday that wraps around the park at Square d'Anvers, about a two-minute walk from the apartment. It's an afternoon market beginning at 3:30 p.m. each Friday, so no need to rise-and-shine early to get the best selection. Plan on a delicious evening meal at home that night!

On other days, take advantage of the daily market street rue des Martyrs, as well as the neighborhood supermarket, Franprix, which is just around the corner from the apartment on rue Dunkerque. For clothing, you'll find some very cool vintage and retro boutiques in the neighborhood - take the time to explore!
