Darrin Scheid and Paula Caballero are American journalists and real estate addicts who vacationed in Paris for six years before purchasing their own tiny Parisian flat in October 2003. Paula, a California native and graduate of UC-Santa Barbara and UC-San Diego, currently writes for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram travel section and www.bonjourparis.com. Darrin, a Missouri native and graduate of UT-Arlington, is a former magazine editor who holds a real estate salesperson license in Texas. Paula and Darrin are former sports reporters and enjoy staying up very late watching American sports in Paris.
This couple not only has property management and ownership experience, but they are also quite handy with plaster, a sanding block and can of paint. Darrin and Paula have renovated two houses in Fort Worth, Texas including a 1916 bungalow in the city's Fairmount Historic District.
After buying their Paris studio sight unseen, they spent several grueling weeks updating and decorating it before enjoying two highly-successful rental years, thanks to the expertise of Darrell Halverson and Stephanie Freedman at Paris Real Estate Finders and Lauren Greenwald at Lets Paris. Now, Darrin and Paula split time between the US and Paris, living with their two cats, Tabitha and Morrissey. When in Paris, they live in that very same tiny Parisian flat they purchased four short years ago. They look forward to helping all you Frenchy Renters out there plan your next visit to Paris!
